2009 Focus Group #2:  Best Practices and Metrics in Oral Health

March 19-20, 2009 - Phoenix, Arizona (Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain)

Continuing our collaborative research for our 2009 theme on Defining Quality in Oral Health Care, the Institute for Oral Health hosted a second focus group with the nation's leading experts to explore best practices for measuring quality and effectiveness in dental care access, delivery and treatment protocols.

Focus Group #2 discussion topics included:

  • HealthPartners dental data tracking system for evidenced-based care and integration with medical data
  • Permanente's performance mgmt system and process metrics for determining quality
  • Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC) accreditation as it relates to dental metrics and best practices
  • VA Office of Dentistry's Oral Health Quality initiative for evidenced-based care and prevention
